Insurance Q&A
What are Outdoorsy’s insurance protection packages?
We get that renting an RV can be both an exciting and scary decision — that’s why we go above and beyond to give you maximum peace of mind when you book an RV on Outdoorsy’s platform.
From our $1 million liability policy to our comprehensive collision coverage, we’ve revolutionized insurance options to keep you covered when you rent with Outdoorsy.
Will my personal insurance cover me during the rental period?
Generally, no. We offer industry-leading insurance for the rental period in part because your personal insurance will almost never cover you for an RV rental.
Who provides Outdoorsy’s insurance?
Our liability insurance is provided by Assurant*, one of the largest insurance providers in the world.
For any damage to the RV, Outdoorsy provides direct coverage backed by Lloyd’s of London.
When does Outdoorsy’s insurance begin and end?
Outdoorsy offers episodic insurance, meaning that coverage lasts for the duration of the rental period you booked the RV for.
Coverage goes in force when you take the keys and ends when you hand the keys back at the end of the rental period, or drop the vehicle and keys off at an agreed location.
What are Outdoorsy’s insurance protection packages?
We offer three different levels of insurance so you can choose the most suitable level of protection for your rented RV. No matter which of the three insurance packages you choose, Outdoorsy offers up to $1 million in liability coverage and up to $1 million in comprehensive and collision coverage.
Roadside Assistance is also offered on all purchased Outdoorsy Protection Packages as a courtesy to you.
NOTE: As the renter, you would be responsible for the full deductible should an accident occur. Deductible amount depends on the package you select (see below):

What additional coverages are available?
You can add these additional coverages when you rent an RV with us:
Windshield coverage helps when road rocks chip your windshield.
Accident Interruption Protection reimburses you for days lost due to an accident during the rental period.
Interior Damage Protection offers extra peace of mind for damages like broken appliances, damaged interior doors, and stained bedding or linens.
Trip Insurance can reimburse you if a covered situation (e.g. medical event or natural disaster) stops your trip before it starts.
